Customized options: customer tells their coming raw coil materials, finished baby strips specification, production capacity(how many tons per year), precision tolerances(slit width, edge burr, edge camber, recoiling hump, etc), as per customer rquirements, we will provide individual complete proposal of whole slitting line, including uncoiling, slitting & recoiling process, delivery time, dispatch and after sale support. We give professional guide and support.
Sheet Metal Slitting Line for Medium Gauge 3 to 8mm thickness, Metal sheet mostly are steel sheet, coil sheet material can be hot rolled (HR, HRC, HRS), cold rolled (CR, CRC, CRS), Galvanized sheet (GI) or Stainless Steel sheet (SUS, STS, SS) below 6mm. Coil sheet width range vary from 1250mm to 2000mm, it depends on customer coil materials source.
Medium gauge Slitting line Characters:
- machines are strong and precise, machine structure will be proportionally stronger than thin gauge slitting line, meanwhile the cutting precision is the same level as thin sheet (+/-0.10mm)
- the slitting speed is variable (50-120m/min) for different thickness slitting, proportional to sheet gauge, the thinner speed higher, the thicker speed lower, we give dual speed transmission ratio to realize the best efficiency.
- Uncoiler usually double mandrel type for heavy load metal coils 25T -30T.
- Scrap winder is heavy load, each side one winder, either drum type or center support type.
- Medium sheet tension station either the same as thin sheets (felt pads) or heavy duty (rollers type), tension is adjustable.
- Recoiler separator either overarm type or portal frame type, parallel pressing strips down over recoil mandrel with coiling diameter increasing, with pressing pressure is adjustable.
- Slitter can be fast change double slitters or fast tools changing turret.
- Dimensions of medium gauge slitting line: 30 -35m length x 10m width
Composition:
Coil preparing saddle, Coil loading Car, Double Heads Uncoiler, Coil head Opener & peeler, Pinch feeder & 5rolls Pre-leveler, Shear, Pit accumulator 1 (transmission table), Side guide, Slitter (double heads optional), Scrap winder, Pit Accumulator 2, Tensioner and Pre-separator,deflector roller, recoiler with press separator, coil discharging car

Q & A
1.Q: What is the working range of this line?
A: 2-8 mm thickness in coil widths of 1250, 1600, 1800 or 2000 mm, with 508, 610 or 760 mm coil inside diameter and up to 30 t coil weight.
2.Q: How many strips per coil?
A: About 20 strips at 2 mm and 6 strips at 8 mm. Strip count is limited by the 540 kW installed power and by knife loading, so the quotation fixes the exact arrangement for the material being run.
3.Q: What speed range does it offer?
A: 0-60-120 m/min, set by material and strip count. The drive is variable speed, so the same line runs at threading speed during coil changeover and at full speed in production.
4.Q: What materials does it handle?
A: Hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized and stainless coil in the 2-6 mm range stated in the specification, up to 8 mm on the heavier setting. Knife grade is selected for the actual material.
5.Q: How long is delivery and what control system is used?
A: 150-180 days after drawing approval. Siemens PLC with touch screen is standard, and the line is assembled and run before shipment.
Build standards and working accuracy
Which components and brands go into a slitting line?
Structural parts are welded to a minimum throat of two thirds the thinner plate, shot-blasted before painting and finished with two top coats. Uncoiler, slitter and recoiler shafts are forged 42CrMo and supplied with a material certificate; gears are 20CrMnTi, case-hardened and ground. Bearings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical parts come from named suppliers — Yuken valves, AirTac cylinders, HIWIN linear guides, Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC, Proface HMI, OMRON sensors — and the final bill of components is fixed on the approved drawing for each line.
What slitting and recoiling accuracy can the line hold?
On a typical slitting line, slit width is held to ±0.05 mm on strip narrower than 100 mm and thinner than 1.5 mm, and to ±0.10 mm in other conditions. Camber stays within 1.0 mm over 2 m, burr within 3% of strip thickness for strip up to 1.0 mm and 4% between 1.0 and 2.0 mm, winding misalignment within ±1.0 mm and telescope within ±2.0 mm. Final tolerances are agreed on the drawing for the specific line.
How is the line installed and supported after delivery?
Engineers attend the customer's plant to supervise installation and train the operators on the line as built. Spare parts are supplied at any time, and remote technical support stays available for the life of the machine.
