Medium Gauge Steel Coil Decoiler Cut To Length Machine (Servo length measuring)
Medium gauge steel coil sheet cut to length line for coil steel sheets ranging 2 to 8mm thickness, most common model 6 x 1600 cut to length. Coil sheet material can be hot rolled (HR, HRC, HRS), cold rolled (CR, CRC, CRS), Galvanized sheet (GI) or Stainless Steel sheet (SUS, STS, SS). Coil sheet width varying 1250mm, 1500mm, 1600mm, 1800mm, 2000mm, it depends on customer incoming coil materials.

Medium gauge steel cut to length lines characters:
- Medium gauge cut to length requires machines strong and precise, the sheet metal thickness two or three times of thin gauge sheet, this means machine structure will be proportionally strong, meanwhile the cutting precision is the same level as thin sheet (+/-0.5mm)
- the producing speed should be fast enough (around 50m/min) or normal 30m/min.
- Medium sheet stacking structure is the same as thin sheet, piece by piece drop and pile up.
- Shear can be servo drive or fast hydraulic shear, moving type or start-stop type, stronger than thin sheet pneumatic type shear.
- Uncoiler usually double mandrel type with two back tension motors.
- Stacker is stacking frame with pneumatic receiving roller arms, baffle plates, width and length adjusting mechanism, the same as light gauge sheets stacking.

1.Q: What coil and sheet range does this line handle?
A: Coil 1.0-6.0 mm thick and 600-1600 mm wide, up to 30 t coil weight. Cut sheet length is adjustable from 1000 to 6000 mm.
2.Q: What leveler is fitted?
A: A four-high leveler with seven over eight rolls, 140 mm roll diameter and 15 rolls in total, driven by a 110 kW motor. That combination removes coil set and crossbow on 1-6 mm material before shearing.
3.Q: How is sheet length controlled?
A: A servo length-fixing system with a 30 kW drive measures and feeds each blank, so a length change is made from the control screen instead of by mechanical adjustment.
4.Q: What line speed and output does it achieve?
A: Up to 80 m/min. A 30 t coil is normally cut in 10 to 60 minutes depending on sheet length, which is the practical figure for planning a shift.
5.Q: Can it laminate film on the sheets?
A: Film laminating is available as an option, applied after leveling and before stacking. Control is by Siemens PLC, and the stacker collects the finished sheets as one set.
Build standards and working accuracy
Which components and brands go into a cut to length line?
Structural parts are welded to a minimum throat of two thirds the thinner plate, shot-blasted before painting and finished with two top coats. Uncoiler, slitter and recoiler shafts are forged 42CrMo and supplied with a material certificate; gears are 20CrMnTi, case-hardened and ground. Bearings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical parts come from named suppliers — Yuken valves, AirTac cylinders, HIWIN linear guides, Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC, Proface HMI, OMRON sensors — and the final bill of components is fixed on the approved drawing for each line.
Which shear and leveling arrangement does the line use?
A medium gauge line uses a servo track flying shear that follows the leveling speed and cuts on the move; heavy gauge plate is leveled twice, pre-leveling and fine leveling, to relieve internal stress before shearing, and stainless or aluminium coil is edge trimmed ahead of the cut. The arrangement follows the gauge, the material and the surface the sheet has to keep.
How is the line installed and supported after delivery?
Engineers attend the customer's plant to supervise installation and train the operators on the line as built. Spare parts are supplied at any time, and remote technical support stays available for the life of the machine.
